Now that the Rally has finished (for most of us), I want to take a moment to thank those people with whom I was fortunate enough to travel. As majestic as the windswept steppe of Mongolia was, as awe inspiring as the door to hell was, as mind numbing as day-after-day trapped on a boat was, it was the new friends that made this trip incredible. Prepare yourselves for a long list: Nick, Roberto, Gabe, Phillip, Ankit, Christopher Goins, Tony, Anton, Manthy, Becky, Christopher Beattie, Eoghan, Andy, Kev, Darren, Lauren, Stephen, Tilly, Hartley, and of course Arvand and Noah. I'm so thrilled to have met you guys. In addition, I want to thank all the people who donated (http://donate.friskydingo.com if you haven't yet) and the people who followed us on Facebook and our website. Throughout the trip, I felt like I was carrying you guys with us. Thank you for your support, your likes, and your comments. It really meant a lot to us. Please make a comment on this post and let us know what you thought of the trip. With love, Victor #fd2016

Victor's departure from Moscow and Frisky Dingo. It was emotional. All the people who weren't total dicks were sad. #fd2016 On to Oktoberfest for me. Note: This will be my last real-time update to http://www.friskydingo.rocks.

White people problems: Waiting for your brown friend at the Russian border when he's been pulled into the back room to be interrogated. Arvand has been asked why he's doing so much traveling. None of his travel partners were asked any questions at all. #fd2016

Arvand located this amazing Ger camp near Bat Ulzii with hot showers, wifi, horse riding, and of course a bar. We spent the better part of two days trying to get there. #fd2016

After having been delayed by a double flat, we decided to get an additional spare in Bayankhogor. #fd2016

The road to Bayankhogor was fraught with adventure. #fd2016

Our brief stay in Altay. Because of the time change within Mongolia, we got in at about 11:30pm only one restaurant was open in the entire town. It happened to be the one with a drunk guy who wanted to fight Arvand. Arvand wasn't having it. #fd2016

The (correct) road from Khovd to Altai (not in China) was a progression of beautiful tarmac roads, roadworkers shouting at us to get off said roads, and sand traps with zero visibility when we did. #fd2016

Sooo... Turns out there are two cities named Darvi right next to each other in Mongolia. It also turns out that there are signs that point to Altai and other signs that also point to Altai. One is in Mongolia and the other Altai is in China. When the directions say go through Darvi to Altai and you're following road signs... This can lead to a (beautiful, picturesque) 3 hour detour (on perfect tarmac). You're welcome team. #fd2016
