Ahhhh the twins. #fd2016 Victor Gebhardt
This post is a month late and I am sorry for that. Compiling all the pictures and details took a bit of time. This will be the last Frisky Dingo post. The Rally was awesome and thank you Victor Gebhardt and Arvand Sabetian for going with me on such an adventure! Shout out to the other teams (Lost in Transit, The Wayward Huns, People with Penelope, Mehta Rush N' Chaik's Rally for a Cause, Mama's Boys (Gabe)) we traveled with! Here are our Rally stats: --We drove: 8,824 Miles (1,436 Kilometers) --We traveled by boat: 893 Miles (14,200 Kilometers) --That is a total of: 9,716 Miles (15,636 Kilometers) --Days in the Car: 47 --Days in a Boat: 7 --Days to complete the Rally: 54 --Countries passed through: 18 --Number of Borders crossed: 17 --Number of Bribes paid: 0 (1 if the guard taking my carbine counts) --Number of times robbed: 1 --Number of different cars in our caravan: 6 --Hitchhikers we picked up: 1 --Animals hit: 1 bird :( --We push started our car 17 times across 5 countries. --We got stuck 5 times, 4 of those were mud. --We got pulled over 5 times and zero tickets. --We received 2 parking tickets (one was a wheel boot). --We received 4 flats, 3 burnt lights, had a hole in our coolant overflow container, a broken water pump, a cracker radiator, a cracked windshield, a broken hood latch, a broken starter, lost our bumper, and had our exhaust torn off. This trip was awesome #fd2016
Now that the Rally has finished (for most of us), I want to take a moment to thank those people with whom I was fortunate enough to travel. As majestic as the windswept steppe of Mongolia was, as awe inspiring as the door to hell was, as mind numbing as day-after-day trapped on a boat was, it was the new friends that made this trip incredible. Prepare yourselves for a long list: Nick, Roberto, Gabe, Phillip, Ankit, Christopher Goins, Tony, Anton, Manthy, Becky, Christopher Beattie, Eoghan, Andy, Kev, Darren, Lauren, Stephen, Tilly, Hartley, and of course Arvand and Noah. I'm so thrilled to have met you guys. In addition, I want to thank all the people who donated (http://donate.friskydingo.com if you haven't yet) and the people who followed us on Facebook and our website. Throughout the trip, I felt like I was carrying you guys with us. Thank you for your support, your likes, and your comments. It really meant a lot to us. Please make a comment on this post and let us know what you thought of the trip. With love, Victor #fd2016
Spent the final caravan day with my Irish brethren (Lauren you are badass so you get counted as a brother and a sister). I am going to miss you guys. Till next time, which there will be. #fd2016 There will also be one more Mongol Rally post after this, as it will detail our beloved stead Tinkerbell and the journey we had.
